Mark answer scripts on screen. Publish results with confidence.

On-Screen Marking lets examiners evaluate scanned subjective answers against clear rubrics, from anywhere, while every page view and every mark is recorded for audit.

Why move evaluation on screen

Paper bundles slow every exam cycle down

  • Answer books travel between centres and camps, adding days and risk.
  • Totalling mistakes and unmarked pages surface only after results are out.
  • Head examiners cannot see how consistently each examiner is marking.
  • Re-evaluation requests mean finding one booklet among lakhs.

With On-Screen Marking

  • Scripts are scanned once and reach examiners anywhere within minutes.
  • Marks are entered per rubric parameter and totalled automatically.
  • Double marking and live analytics show marking consistency as it happens.
  • Any script, with its full marking history, is one search away.
Workflow

Six steps from scanned page to published result

Each stage hands over to the next automatically, so administrators manage exceptions instead of paperwork.

  1. Ingest

Centres upload scanned answer books in bulk, with resumable uploads that survive slow connections.

  2. Collate

Barcodes on every page group and order pages per candidate. Anything unusual goes to an exception queue.

  3. Allocate

Scripts are coded for blind marking and shared out by subject, language and examiner workload.

  4. Evaluate

Examiners view pages, annotate and score each rubric parameter, with autosave and automatic totals.

  5. Moderate

Double marking, variance checks and control scripts flag inconsistent marking for chief examiners.

  6. Publish

Objective scores are merged with subjective totals, validated and released as final results.

Features

Everything evaluation needs, in one place

Bulk script ingestion

Upload multi-page PDFs or images from any centre, with checksums on every file.

Barcode collation

Pages are matched to candidates automatically and checked for gaps and duplicates.

Blind marking

Examiners see a random script code, never the candidate's identity.

Annotation tools

Tick, cross, highlight, comment and mark blank pages as seen.

Rubric scoring

Score each parameter within its maximum and step size; totals are always right.

Moderation

Configurable double marking with automatic third evaluation above your threshold.

MCQ merge

Combine OMR or CBT scores with subjective marks into one validated result.

Analytics

Examiner productivity, severity versus peers and question-level mark distribution.

Security

Built for confidential, high-stakes marking

Answer scripts are sensitive. The platform is designed so that examiners can do their job and nothing more.

Read about security

No originals leave

Examiners receive watermarked page images on short-lived links, never the source files.

One session per user

A new sign-in ends the previous one, and sessions expire after inactivity.

Isolated tenants

Each institution's data is separated by database-level row security.

Append-only audit

Sign-ins, page views, score changes and publishing are logged permanently.

Hybrid scoring

Most papers combine objective and descriptive sections. Import MCQ scores from your OMR or computer-based test system and the platform merges them with subjective totals, applies rounding, grace and moderation rules, and produces a validation report before anything is published.

  • CSV or API import of objective scores
  • Configurable rounding and grace rules
  • Validation before publishing, with a full history

Analytics that improve marking

See evaluation as it happens instead of after the fact. Reports cover productivity, consistency and question quality, and export to Excel, CSV or PDF.

  • Scripts per hour and time per question for each examiner
  • Severity or leniency compared with peers
  • Mark distribution and difficulty index per question
FAQ

Common questions

What is on-screen marking?

On-screen marking is the evaluation of subjective answer scripts on a computer instead of on paper. Scripts are scanned once, and examiners view the page images, annotate them and enter marks against a rubric in the browser.

Do examiners need to install anything?

No. Examiners work in a modern web browser on a desktop or laptop. Administrators can restrict sign-in to approved networks and devices.

Can examiners see who wrote a script?

No. Every script receives a random code before allocation. Candidate identity is visible only to authorised administrators, so marking is blind.

How are scanned pages matched to candidates?

A barcode or QR code printed on each answer sheet is read during ingestion. Pages are grouped and ordered per candidate automatically, and missing, duplicate or unreadable pages go to an exception queue for review.
