Privacy policy
Last updated 24 October 2026
This policy explains how P Soft Tech ("we") handles personal data on this website and in the On-Screen Marking platform. We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Information collected on this website
When you submit the contact form we collect your name, work email, optional phone number, organisation, organisation type and message, together with the IP address the request came from. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of it. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box, and our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries.
Information processed in the platform
Institutions that use On-Screen Marking ("customers") decide what candidate and examiner data is processed. For that data the customer is the data fiduciary and we act as their data processor. The platform is designed to minimise personal data:
- Examiners see scripts by a random code, not by candidate identity.
- The link between script code and candidate is visible only to authorised customer administrators.
- Logs never record passwords, access tokens or candidate personal data.
- Retention periods are configured by each customer, after which data is erased.
Cookies
This website sets only the cookies it needs to work, such as a security token that protects forms from forgery and a cookie that remembers your cookie choice. If analytics is enabled, analytics cookies are set only after you select "Accept analytics". You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies for this site, after which we will ask again.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and platform, such as hosting and email providers, under contracts that require them to protect it, or where the law requires us to.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted by role, recorded in an audit log and reviewed. More detail is on our security page.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise these rights. If your data is processed by an institution that uses our platform, please contact that institution first; we will support them in responding.
